Hooray for Jolie!

Maybe in time to sit under the Christmas tree of her forever home! OXXO

Sports! Rescue Dogs! Jolie!

Soon the Packers will play the Bills. My mom is from Buffalo, but I don't have any football-based allegiances. Miss Jolie on the other hand is rooting for one team only...at least while she's at this foster home.

Jolie giving that "I'm tough. Don't mess with me. Don't insult my team." stare down. Our rescue doesn't adopt to Buffalo, NY so her fandom can likely live on when she's adopted. Or not. Adopter's choice.

All right. This one is a little forced, but you get the idea. Do you want the Packers to go to the Superbowl? How fun would it be to have this very social and adaptable dog sitting in your living room when you cheer on Aaron & Friends to victory? She's very treat-motivated so you could probably train her to do something cool for a nacho. Think about it.

Beaujolais - Not Just a French Wine

You guys. The Grinch could not steal Christmas without Max. How could you possibly celebrate it without Jolie?
I would like to restate how and why this little furball is going to be a beautiful addition to someone's family:
* housebroken
* great with dogs
* kid-friendly
* adaptable to crowds
* low-shedding
* healthy
* good eater
* expert sleeper
...she is sweet and funny and playful, too!
"All I Want For Christmas Is You....! (to adopt me)"

Also, this cute video of Jolie sitting for a biscuit and then looking up all adorable-like. Also, if you're having a hard time wrapping your tongue around "Beaujolais" and want to call her Bo-jo, or even rename her Silkypaws or Beyonce, that is okay. Fill out the application before you pick a name, though.

Jolie's Crowd-Pleasing Adventure

Jolie is outgoing & meets people easily, so we went on a pet shop adventure. She also embraces new situations without fear - a great trait for a family who likes to bring their dog along for the fun or has kids. Example: Here is some random kid with a Santa Claus hedgehog. Jolie was curious to meet them both. Then hedgehog started making weird noises and made her jump.
Shlucky kid's hedgehogand Jolie nose-to-nose

This sweetieface weighs about 20 pounds - which is about my personal limit on "I can pick this dog up." We think she's somewhere between 1 - 2 years old. She's beyond the hyper-puppy phase, but still loves to play and go for walks.
Pearly whites

Jolie is a well-behaved young lady. Skip dumped it in the back aisle of the pet shop. Jolie wouldn't do something like that. She would be a great addition to someone's home - as an only dog (loves people) - or as a friend to another dog.

Look at these 3 little musketeers saying hello to each other.

I must say, Skip and Jolie makes quite the handsome pair. But little Skip is getting adopted this weekend. Jolie's forever home still hasn't found her. I hope they do soon because she will make them so happy! Please share with someone you know looking for a classy little broad to add to their life. Maybe she'll be cozied up by Christmas. XOXO

Guess Who's On The Nice List?

Jolie is getting in the holiday spirit. She's ready for Santa (and her forever home) so it's good she's not on the naughty list. In fact, she's at the top of the "good for first time dog owners" list. Literally first: check it out

Below are some seasonal pics of Jolie (aka Beaujolais), along with good info about this totally eligible foster girl.

She's not a high-energy dog, she is great on a leash, and loves walks in any weather...more than I can say for myself.
Jolie wakes up happy every day!

She is a foodie, not a picky eater. She is also smart & is treat-motivated, which is wonderful for training.
Jolie sleeps quietly through the night. How many one-year-old girls do you know who can do that?
Christmas kibble

At last week's Thanksgiving Jolie met 16 new people and was great. No turkey bones for her, but wouldn't you love to stick one of these giant bones in a stocking and wrap a bow around that face?
Bones on bones on bones

Jolie lets you scoop her up for hugs, but she's not a very lick-y girl,  so she's not going to slobber up your face. She's not weird about having her paws or ears or anything touched either.
Note my shirt. Snuggles in a white sweater = very low shed dog. That's my jam.
Snuggle queen.

This sweetie would be a great addition to any family - dogs, kids, whatever.  Click the link in the top to visit her petfinder page or just follow your heart and apply to adopt her!
 Remember when it was nice out? See past posts here of Jolie running around in the grass!

I ShihTzu Not, Jolie Is Still Available!

This little biscuit-eater Jolie is still looking for a home. I'm surprised she hasn't been scooped up yet, given her track record: housebroken, low shedder, good with dogs, happy spirit, pretty eyes, soft fur, general cuteness.

 Check out these previous posts to see her prancing around and have your heart melted. Unless you're a Grinch and that's a bad business to be in this time of year. Let's get her adopted before Thanksgiving. If you adopt her you win, and you'll have something to be thankful for when that awkward go-around-the-table routine happens!

Beaujolais: Her Friends Call Her Jolie

This little lady lover is a great pup. Click here to read all the posts on Jolie about how she's fun, housebroken, a light shedder, and all that stuff a best friend should be. This link will take you to the rescue site for adoption.
 Maybe you're hung up on her name, thinking, "Jolie? But I've always been on team Aniston - would adopting this dog be a betrayal to Jen and her perfect complexion? Will others think I condone home-wrecking behaviours?" No of course not - you can change her name to Jennifer if you really want! That's a weird name for dog.
Enjoy this short clip of Jolie horsing around with her foster bro, Bowser.
The two pals chill out after a romp around the yard.
Here is a picture to give you an idea about her size. She is larger than a breadbox and weighs more than a deck of cards. About 20 pounds, 12 inches to shoulder (if that is helpful to you). What a smusher!

 What else do you want to know about this babycake?

Honey & Jolie: Fall in Love Twice

Fluffy Dog rescue has so many sweeties, but the two I know best are Honey and Jolie. They have some of the same characteristics and will undoubtedly make great pets. Let's do a side-by-side comparison for fun.
Note: This might look dumps if viewing on a phone.

Rolly Polie Jolie

It was so fun to visit Jolie this week - watch this video and see what a playful girl she is! She reminds me of Warby
When she was rescued from Alabama, she tested heartworm + and had to get treatment here in WI. She was a true sweetie during her month of recovery. For those wondering...
"Even after heartworm is cured - does the dog act sick? Do they fully recover?"
Here is Jolie - fully recovered and playing with her foster brother Bowser.

Are you kidding? Look at that little sprite!

Oh yes, she is housetrained.

Jolie - She's Not The Pits

Do you guys get it or no?
Want to take another minute to shout out to my girl, Jolie. As of this weekend, she is available for adoption! She completed her heartworm treatment - a bummer of a treatment (shots and no exercise), but her spirits remained high the whole time. Last time I visited her, her foster family seemed pretty content knowing they were guaranteed to have her for a month, but now that she's recovered, she is ready to go home!
Jolie looks lovingly at her foster mom, Ann

Heartworm is transmitted through mosquitoes, so it's not contagious from contact so dogs can't catch it from each other. Know what's safer, cheaper, and easier that treatment? Prevention! It's super easy to prevent with a cheap monthly pill so make sure all your fluffballs are getting it.
Her eyes = so beautiful

Some more info on Jolie is in my previous posts

Do you have any questions about Jolie or about heartworm?

Film Stars: Dog, Interrupted.

Meet these Hollywood superdogs. On a walk this week some little kids were petting Rudy. The girl said she saw a movie about him. It's a sports movie and Rudy is the good guy - just like in real life.

Rudy has sit nailed . At least 95%.
Loving the hi res video here, right?

GO TO BED, YOU TINY CUDDLEBUG, BEFORE I HUG-SQUEEZE YOU INTO 100 PIECES.
Rudy, go to bed!

So you all know Angelina Jolie and her famous cheekbones, right? This Jolie has killer eyes. And unlike that one, this one won't wear a vial of her lover's blood around her neck. Just a collar will do. Like Rudy, she's about 1-2 years old.
She's housetrained, so sweet and loving. Truth moment: she sheds a little, but hey - what beautiful woman doesn't leave a few hairs in the bathroom, amiright? And yes, you can wrap your human paws around her soft little face and tell her how much you love her and kiss her nose and she will let it happen, of course. I was told black dogs' adoption rate is much lower than others. Not cool.

Featured Foster Face: Jolie!

Yesterday I got to hang out with this sweet lady in her shiny black coat: Jolie. Her official name is Beaujolais, but that makes her sounds like a bougie bia, so she goes by Jolie.
She chill like that.
I don't usually go loco for shih tzu, but c'mon with that face.

Jolie is a shih tzu-terrier mix, about a year old, and roughly 18 pounds.
 She loves to be pet and cuddled.

If you adopted her before Halloween, I think she would be a really good candidate for a doggy ewok costume. Something to consider. Her eyes are poppin' and her fur has this really pretty red hue in certain parts like she just got fresh highlights. If you were considering adopting Rudy, but know in your heart that you're more the fancy lady type, I think Jolie might the solution. She has class.
 Oh you fancy, huh? No, not really.
