A couple weekends ago, my dad and I took Jabba for the day. We played outside for a while before discovering that Jabba is actually a fish, not a dog. Here are some of our adventures.
Jabba going for a water-walk at the Terrace.
Jabba sat nicely at the Terrace, but really wanted to go in the water. Since he's not my dog and we just met that morning, I was reluctant to let him swim. We compromised on walking along the shoreline. He walked (or swam) along in the water while I strolled down the steps. The other Terrace-goers got a kick of it.
Jabba drinking from the hose to cool down.
Here is a note from my Dad (who lives in WA) about his day with Jabba: I was a little afraid of Jabba right off [because of his size], but by the end of the afternoon, I would have taken him in... he is an intelligent dog with a highly confident swagger... the public responds to him with extreme gusto and intrigue. He wouldn't look at me at first, but he stared into my eyes at the end of the visit & licked my face with love!
He is as loyal as they come!
